The following personnel assignments were agreed upon:

Principal investigator: Alan Dressler

Project scientist: Ian Thompson

Project engineer: Tyson Hare

Project manager: Alan Uomoto

Project name

Budget

Schedule

A task list maintained in a WBS by Uomoto will be used for internal project tracking.

Technical requirements

Task list

Uomoto will maintain a separate WBS for tasks. These were presented at today's meeting:

  1. Gather mechanical info on platten
  2. Re-design/extend dewar to fit platten
  3. Check to make sure counter-balance still works
  4. Re-design focus mechanism
  5. Gather and review drawings for e-box
  6. Submti drawings for e-box to shop
  7. Start building set of PCBs and preamps
  8. Order add-on parts--connectors, etc.
  9. Discuss requirement for wing chips
  10. Decide if non-N&S capabilty should be retained (this has an impact on cable & hose layout, and other things)
  11. Decide on AR coating wavelength range
  12. Re-design cooling strap
  13. Understand the temperature control system needed (what does an E2V platten look like?)
  14. MOU needs to be written and signed
  15. TSIP proposal strategy needs to be worked out
  16. Ask Mike Lesser for other CCD options?
  17. Update budget to reflect total costs, contingency, and overhead

Actions

  1. Thompson will contact E2V and initiate conversations on purchasing the detectors. There is a desire to get started on this early because detector acquisition is on the critical path.
  2. Thompson will contact E2V to learn about their capabilities and product offering for the mosaic platten: what tolerances can they hold? Can they build in metrology features? What about temperature control?
  3. Dressler will converse with Todd Boroson to get a better understanding of what the TSIP strategy should be.
  4. Uomoto will update the budget
  5. Uomoto will draft a Magellan MOU
  6. Uomoto will draft the task list/WBS
  7. Burley will prepare a cost estimate for the electronics
  8. Thompson will decide whether or not it's worth conversing with Mike Lesser for other CCD options
