Engineering work schedule for September 2005

Baade

September 15-17

Night time tests

  1. Collimation tests (active-passive)
  2. (LDP tests with Burles & Hare moved to December 2005.)
  3. Review S-H pickoff mirror alignment on IMACS (alignment lost when hit by IFU)
  4. Check IMACS IFU for damage
  5. Review IMACS mask alignment problems (see Martini telescope report for the 13th)

Daytime work

  1. Alan Bagish on-site Sep 14-17 to install new switch debounce cards in IMACS, prepare cabling and instrument rack for MMTF installation next month, investigate fans between electronics racks, and find the long MMTF cable. Review mask server encoder.

Night time tests

  1. Work on the LDSS and MIKE CCD cameras by Ian Thompson. Specific projects include:
    1. trying to understand the low MIKE blue full well.
    2. measuring the LDSS3 linearity
    3. trying to improve the LDSS3 nod-and-shuffle behavior
    4. installing the LDSS3 dewar cooling plate
  2. Review NIR east guider, FP3 guider, adjust pickoff mirrors, test during the first part of each night
  3. GLAO tests Alex Athey
