ABSTRACT

I will discuss the Atacama Large Millimeter Array. ALMA represents an order of magnitude, or more, improvement in all areas of millimeter-wave observations, including sensitivity, resolution, frequency coverage, and image quality. I will summarize the potential science enabled by ALMA. I will then present recent progress in ALMA construction, and discuss the project schedule. I will close with details on ALMA user support at the North American ALMA Science Center.
